SUZY KANE aka CHAMPAGNE SUZY

Champagne Suzy, renowned striptease artist, spent many years performing up and down the east coast to standing-room-only crowds. Following in the tradition of Gypsy Rose Lee, Lily St. Cyr and Blaze Starr, Champagne Suzy turned striptease into an art form. With dreams of taking her passion for dance to the legitimate stage, Champagne Suzy moved to London to train in the classics. After conquering the London stage, Suzy continued her career acting and dancing in the New York theatre scene to critical acclaim.

Destiny took a hand when she met and married Ivan Kane, an actor and sometime dancer. Determined to integrate dance into the world of nightlife, the two performers and entrepreneurs moved to the west coast and partnered in such ground-breaking nightclubs as Kane and deep. With Champagne Suzy as the inspiration, it was inevitable that the two would open Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce - a reworking of the back-alley burlesque vibe that Champagne Suzy knew so well.

Designing the costumes, hand-picking the dancers and putting together the musicians, the two turned Champagne Suzy's particular talents into the phenomenal success that Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce has become. Opening in Hollywood, Vegas soon came knocking and Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce launched its second venue at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, an event documented in the hit four-part Bravo reality series, Forty Deuce, directed by Zalman King, executive produced by Ivan Kane and produced by Champagne Suzy.

Together with her husband, they expanded the genre of burlesque by launching Ivan Kane's Royal Jelly, a rock 'n roll burlesque show that solidified Champagne Suzy's reputation as the queen of burlesque. The husband and wife team have now added restaurateurs to their resume with Ivan Kane's Café Was, a French Bistro and Piano lounge in Hollywood. With Ivan Kane's Café Was, the two have once again redefined the traditional, bringing dining into a world steeped in bohemia.
